Nuan Cang Inventory ↗
A quieter way to run a small shop. Stock, sales and the next thing that needs attention, brought into one workspace.
A hand balm concept inspired by slow mornings, wild gardens, and the things we make.
A made-up product, made to explore a real idea: an interface that grows at its own pace.
CONCEPT ONLY · NO CHECKOUT

I’m Max, a designer working across spaces, websites and small digital tools.
With a background in architecture and interiors, I turn everyday problems into things you can see, explore and use.

A quieter way to run a small shop. Stock, sales and the next thing that needs attention, brought into one workspace.

A home for built work, visual studies and the tools made along the way. Architecture and digital experiments, in one personal index.

Keep the reference. Remember the reason. A personal visual library for collecting websites, connecting ideas and keeping useful notes.
An online home for a Kingston gift shop. Incense, tea and everyday objects, introduced through atmosphere, stories and simple guides.
A working homepage presentation with the original layout and motion. The tour moves through the page; pause it to explore. On mobile, activate the preview first.
The challenge. Help someone who has never visited understand what this small shop feels like, what it offers and where to start.
Warm imagery and generous space introduce Nuan Cang before asking visitors to shop. Chinese poetry sits alongside English navigation, carrying the character of the physical store into a digital setting.
The approach. A distinctive first impression, clear routes into unfamiliar products, and a practical invitation to visit the shop.
The homepage moves from the shop's atmosphere to guides for incense, tea, jade and vessels, then to journal entries and practical information for visiting Kingston. The wider website brings together the shop, agarwood, guides, journal and workshops.
Homepage presentation from the development build. Shopping, workshop bookings and other pages are not active inside the preview.

Version 0.9.4 · one guided overview with sample data. Watch a delivery add five holders, then a sale update the stock and sales summary. Pause the tour to try each step.
The challenge. Make stock movements and sales easy to follow in the same place, so the next task is visible.
A cultural gift shop needs a useful view of everyday work: what is in stock, what has sold, and what needs attention next. Nuan Cang brings those tasks together without making the owner jump between spreadsheets.
The overview connects product records, recent sales and replenishment signals. The current local build also supports multi-item sales, contacts, spreadsheet imports, reports and backups. This guided presentation follows one holder from 18 units in stock to 23 after a delivery, then 21 after a sale.
A local trial using browser-held data. Only the guided controls are active in this presentation; the complete application and private business records are not embedded.

My background is in architecture and interiors. This website gives projects a clear place to live, with room for drawings, images and the smaller experiments that sit between disciplines.
The presentation follows the existing live website. Scroll inside the preview to explore its composition, then visit the website for the complete work and individual project credits.
Architecture project authorship and collaborators are credited on the source website.
Visit the live website ↗Keep the reference. Remember the reason. A personal visual library for collecting websites, connecting ideas and keeping useful notes.
Interactive presentation · selected public website thumbnails with source links. Demo notes last for this page session.
A saved link becomes much more useful when you remember why you kept it. Vibe Library puts the visual reference beside its category, source and a small note to return to.
Real website thumbnails make the collection easier to browse. Open a card, follow its source or write a note in the workspace. The main view is enough to show the idea without repeating it across a slideshow.
A presentation of a personal tool. The sample notes are not a shared or permanent collection.
Have a workflow like this? ↗A new project, or a focused repair. Every job starts with a brief: a fixed quote for a project, or an estimate and approved spending cap for hourly repairs.
One page, 3–5 sections, your supplied content, responsive layout, one consolidated revision round, domain connection, launch checks and handover.
SCHEDULE CONFIRMED WITH YOUR BRIEFAn established layout, one page with around 3 sections, complete client-supplied copy and images, and one small revision round. Includes responsive checks, domain connection and handover. Eligibility and availability are confirmed in your written quote.
3–5 agreed pages, a coherent visual direction, responsive build, two feedback rounds and handover.
INDICATIVE DELIVERY / 3–5 WEEKSOne small, clearly defined workflow, simple data handling, agreed screens, acceptance checks and source handover. Larger or unfamiliar systems are quoted separately.
INDICATIVE DELIVERY / 2–4 WEEKSStarter and introductory pages include one consolidated revision round. Other projects follow the rounds in your quote. All builds include responsive checks, agreed files or project access, and a handover guide. Original-scope defect support is included for 14 days. Final copy and assets are supplied by you. The quote states whether an MVP is a prototype or a small working application.
You bring your business details, copy, logo and images. I organise the page, build it, check it on mobile, connect your domain and hand over the files or project access. Domain registration, hosting subscriptions, paid assets and business email are separate costs, approved before setup.
Fixed quotes for projects. Hourly repairs have an estimate and approved cap, with actual time recorded.
One consolidated round for starter pages; other projects as quoted. Scope changes are priced before work begins.
Fixed projects: 50% to book, 50% after review and before handover. Hourly repairs: logged time invoiced after the agreed work.
AI supports my process. Fixed project fees cover the agreed scope, design decisions, implementation, testing and handover. Hourly repairs are charged for actual logged work, including agreed investigation and verification.
Read the working terms ↗No mandatory maintenance retainer. You register and pay for domains, hosting and paid services in your own account; I help with setup and domain connection. Registration and renewal costs are confirmed before you commit. Any ongoing help is agreed separately.
Extra pages, copywriting, paid assets, complex integrations, authentication, payments and additional features. We agree the cost of any extra work before it begins.
Yes. The agreed custom deliverables and source files are included after full payment, with a handover walkthrough. Third-party tools and assets remain subject to their own licences.
At the agreed start date, once the brief, deposit, assets and access are ready. These are indicative delivery windows; the quote confirms your schedule.
We can reduce the first version to a useful, clearly defined piece. I will confirm whether a smaller scope is a sensible fit before you commit.
Initial replies usually take 2–3 business days. I do not offer emergency or 24/7 support. Original-scope defect support is included for 14 calendar days after handover, without limiting applicable legal rights.
A new website, a useful little tool, or something that needs a fix. Tell me where you are and where you would like to go.
A few details are enough to begin.
We discuss what is needed, the approach and the cost.
The schedule is agreed once the project is clear.
Complex assessment or a formal quote may take 3–5 business days after the information is complete. Availability and start dates are confirmed in conversation.
The practical details of working together. Your written project quote confirms the specific scope, fees and schedule. Domain and hosting accounts remain in your name.
Every project starts with a written quote describing the deliverables, exclusions, acceptance criteria, schedule and total cost. Quotes are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise. An enquiry does not reserve a slot. Work begins after we both accept the scope and, for fixed-price projects, the booking payment is received. Hourly repairs require agreement on the estimate and spending cap before chargeable work starts.
For fixed-price projects, unless the quote agrees milestones, 50% is payable to book and 50% after the agreed review and before final handover. Hourly repairs are A$55/h for actual logged work, invoiced after the agreed work with payment due within seven days unless otherwise agreed. Chargeable investigation, implementation and testing are included in the estimate. No work beyond the approved spending cap is undertaken without written agreement. An approved investigation may deliver a diagnosis or recommendation rather than a completed repair. All figures are AUD. Your quote confirms the total and any applicable GST before booking. Third-party fees, such as hosting, domains and paid services, are identified and approved separately.
I work on weekdays, Canberra time, excluding ACT public holidays. I aim to answer initial enquiries within 2–3 business days. Complex assessments or quotes may need 3–5 business days after complete information is received. These are response targets, not repair or delivery guarantees.
Delivery windows begin at the agreed slot once the brief, payment, assets and access are ready. Active projects receive a weekly progress update. If something affects the schedule, we discuss it and agree a revised plan.
Starter and introductory landing pages include one consolidated revision round. Other design-and-build projects include the rounds stated in their written quote. A round is one collected feedback list on the agreed work. Repair estimates include verification time. Feedback within five business days helps maintain the schedule; silence is not automatic acceptance.
New features, changed requirements and extra pages are quoted and approved before work. Corrections needed to meet the original agreed acceptance criteria are not charged as new features. My own implementation inefficiency is not an automatic extra charge.
The quote defines the relevant devices, browsers and acceptance checks. Original-scope defects can be reported during 14 calendar days of included post-handover support. This period does not limit consumer guarantees or remedies that apply by law. New functionality and third-party changes are assessed separately. Emergency and 24/7 support are not included.
AI may assist with exploration, coding and content. I review the agreed deliverables. Tool and data use is agreed before confidential client material is shared with third-party AI services. Passwords, API keys and private customer data should not be included in an initial enquiry. Appropriate access arrangements are agreed separately.
After full payment, you receive the agreed custom deliverables and source files. Pre-existing tools and third-party assets remain subject to their licences; relevant dependencies and licence conditions are disclosed. You are responsible for having permission to use materials you supply. Client work is included in my portfolio only with permission.
Either party can end the project in writing. Completed work and approved, non-recoverable costs are reconciled against payments, with any unearned balance refunded. If I end the project, I provide paid-for completed work and refund unearned fees. Applicable legal rights continue to apply.
Please raise concerns in writing at mz.projectlab@gmail.com so we can work towards a resolution. Nothing here excludes consumer guarantees or remedies that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
This local prototype has no form submission server and does not save the form in browser storage. The email option passes your brief to your chosen email application for you to review and send. Enquiries are used to assess and discuss work, not to subscribe you to marketing. A production form will need a notice identifying its actual service providers and retention arrangements before it is enabled.
Drafting references: ACCC consumer guarantees, ACCC contracts. These draft terms need review for the actual business before launch.
